I noticed that the motor oil in a car I purchased recently, though clean, had been overfilled. That can be bad for an engine, so I decided to get the oil changed right away and minimize the chances of any damage occurring. I was pleasantly surprised when the technicians informed me that the oil really didn't need changing (which I knew) and then offered to just drain a little - free of charge - so that the level could get to within its proper range.
